Police investigate Rathcoole attempted burglary

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of an attempted burglary of a residential premises in Derrycoole Way area of Rathcoole.

The Times understands the incident took place at the beginning of the week, however details were only made public by the police today.

Detective Constable McGarry said: “It was reported that sometime between 8pm on Monday, October 31 and 10am on Tuesday, November 1, damage was caused to a property after an unsuccessful attempt was made to gain entry. “We are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information about the incident to contact detectives at Antrim Police Staion on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 807 on 01/11/2016.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
