Police investigate Glengormley van theft

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a van from a new building site on the Upper Hightown Road.

The incident happened on the morning of Friday, September 9, but details have only been made public by the police.

The van, a red Ford Transit, was stolen at approximately 11am. A male is believed to have entered the site office, taken the keys to the transit van before driving off in the direction of north Belfast. The vehicle has ‘I J Lynn and Sons’ written on the sides and the rear doors. It contained a substantial number of construction tools.

Constable McVeagh said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Newtownabbey Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 454 of 09/09/16. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 08000 555 111.”
