Plans for four restaurants close to Asda

Portadown could be in line for four new restaurants close to the Asda supermarket.

A planning application has been submitted for the construction of four cafes/restaurants on land just off the Northway.

The developer is Portadown firm, Turkington Properties.

According to the proposal submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, the site would accommodate one drive-through cafe unit, at 1,800 sq ft, and three café/restaurant units, at around 2,400 sq ft.

There would be 133 car parking spaces including three disabled spaces.

The site, just off the Northway, is bounded by Portadown Rugby Club and Joseph Street.

The architect is the Belfast firm of Like Architects.

The application is at an early stage, with he developer seeking outline planning approval.
