Memories of Prince Philip in Larne

Following the death of Prince Philip on Friday, we have been searching through the Larne Times archives for any details of when he may have visited the area.

Although we know of times when various other members of the Royal Family attended public or private meetings locally, we haven’t been able to track down any details of either the Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh visiting the Larne area.

Our archives are not complete, however, and we could possibly be incorrect in saying their itineraries never brought them to this part of the world.

We are hoping some readers may be able to help, so if you have any information of the Duke of Edinburgh visiting Larne then please get in touch. We would love to record the details in print and on our website in this historic week.

We would also like to hear from anyone who met Prince Philip, whether in the Larne area or further afield. Please share your memories of the occasion so we can include them in our special coverage.

Email [email protected] with details, including a daytime contact number in case we need to get back to you. Alternatively, send us a message via Facebook
