At least 60 houses have been evacuated at the north end of Cookstown.
It is understood the security alert is in the Milburn Close area and was raised after a suspicious object was found.
Cordons are in place and members of the public are asked to avoid the area at present. The PSNI say a further update will be provided in due course.
