New pavilion for Town Park

A £305,000 replacement pavilion is to be built at Larne’s Town Park.

The latest phase in Larne Borough Council’s ongoing parks refurbishment strategy will provide public toilets, changing facilities, a park attendant’s office, a multi-purpose room with refreshment facilities and a storage area.

In the past year, the council has created an outdoor gym, a new playground and allotments in the park.

After the council voted to appoint a design team for the project, development committee chairman, Ald Jack McKee said he was “excited” by plans for the Town Park “bearing in mind the condition it has been in for years”.
