Chief Inspector John Magill has been appointed as the PSNI’s new area commander for Larne and Ballymena.
With 15 years service and having previously served as area commander for Ballymoney and Moyle, Chief Insp Magill has worked in a number of roles including response, CID, crime operations and criminal justice departments.
Speaking about his new appointment, he said he was delighted to be responsible for both areas and was very much looking forward to getting to know the community and his new colleagues.
“Policing has really moved forward in the last number of years and with the introduction of Our Policing Commitments, we are reinforcing at every level the need for a personal, professional and protective service to you, the public.
“There are of course challenges to be faced, however our officers are firmly committed to ensuring the safety of you, your family and your neighbours. I look forward to getting to know the Larne and Ballymena communities better in the weeks and months ahead,” he added.
