MEA Borough Council has discussed arrangements for this year’s Armed Forces Day.
The celebrations, stretching over three days, will take place on Friday June 19 in Carrickfergus, Saturday June 20 in Ballymena and Sunday June 21 in Larne.
Mrs Donaghy said she hoped to “firm up” the church service on Sunday and to have more detail regarding the management of Friday and Saturday.
She also revealed that the council had been looking at a VIP list of guests and had been in contact with the MOD regarding this. The Lord Lieutenant of Antrim, Joan Christie, will also be in attendance.
Mrs Donaghy said that the event would be “family-orientated to engage with as many people as possible.” She praised the work of Councillors including Cllr Donna Anderson and Alderman Gregg McKeen for the event. The plans will go to full council for discussion.
