Mayor hosting acharity tea dance

THE Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Brian Heading has joined forces with ‘Housty’ to host a Christmas Tea Dance for senior citizens on Tuesday December 13 in the Island Hall, Lagan Valley Island, in aid of his Mayoral Charity ‘Lisburn 2gether Special Olympics Club’.

Mr Heading is encouraging everyone to come along and enjoy the Tea Dance, which will take place between 2.00pm and 4.30pm.

Speaking about the event he said: “Tea Dances are traditional and sadly of a bygone era but I am hoping this event will rekindle their popularity and bring people from across the Lisburn area together socially to enjoy music and dancing.

“Community spirit and togetherness within the Lisburn area are very important and I hope to achieve these with this tea dance, while raising money for my worthwhile charity at the same time.

“I would like to thank everyone who has supported my charity to date and I ask for your continued support in the year ahead. The money you give this charity benefits local people. I would also like to thank Norman Houston for providing the music at what promises to be a good afternoon.”

Admission to the Christmas Tea Dance is free but there will be charity collection buckets in the Island Hall for welcomed donations.
