Man ordered to pay compensation over punch-up in Magherafelt
Magherafelt Magistrate’s Court heard how Fergal Luke Magee, 22, from Loughbeg Road in Toomebridge, admitted striking another man causing injury to his nose in the early hours of a date unknown between March 6 and 9.
The defendant claimed that the injured party had assaulted him in the toilets before the incident.

Hide AdHis solicitor told the court that his client did “lash out” and regretted his involvement.
Handing down a fine of £100 and a compensation order for £250, District Judge Alan White said: “There was no justification for you punching him. However, you have previously shown yourself to be of good character and most people are entitled to one chance.”
