Local people who made an impact - final talk

THE final talk in Ballymoney Borough Arts Committee’s local history talk’s series with S Alex Blair takes place on Wednesday 27 March.

The series has featured local people who have made an impact and this month the focus will be on Those Who Stayed at Home.

Over the generations Ballymoney has produced people of outstanding ability who gained recognition locally and also far beyond Ballymoney. There was the famous son of Ballymoney who discovered the cure for scurvy and his brother who become an Admiral in the British navy. There were playwrights, political figures, academics and poets and they all made their impact. There were also those who spread fun and laughter and are cherished in the folk memory to this day.
