Larne Leisure Centre’s daily closing time is being brought forward to allow for essential maintenance.
In order to minimise inconvenience to the centre’s loyal clientele the work will be carried out overnight from 8.30pm – 7.00am for a period of two weeks.
The centre will close nightly at 8pm - Monday to Fridays only - with an extra 30 minutes allowed for clients already in the centre to exit.
This is to accommodate the refurbishment of existing electrical services and commences on the evening of 12 December 2016.
Management hope that the earlier closure time will have minimal effect on patrons, especially given the pre-Christmas period being a normally quieter time.
A spokesman said that while Larne Leisure Centre will indeed close early for the two weeks of out-of-hours maintenance, the hope is that the inconvenience caused will be much reduced by the all-night working undertaken by contractors.
Work is due to be completed before Christmas, with the centre then closed as normal for the festive break, reopening again on Tuesday 27 December at 8.30 am.
