Jimmy Nesbitt amongst locals named in New Year’s honours

Much loved Coleraine actor James Nesbitt has been named in the Queen’s New Year Honours list.

Jimmy, who is a proud Coleraine man, has been honoured with an OBE for services to drama and the community in Northern Ireland.

Two other locals have also been honoured.

Former Macosquin Primary School Principal, Jeremy Farrell has been awarded an MBE for services to Education.

Whilst, Sharon Neely has been awarded a BEM for services to People with Dementia and their Families through the Alzheimer’s Society.
