Jay Beatty's first day at new school

Lurgan Bhoy and Celtic superfan Jay Beatty just finished his first day at secondary school - St Ronan's College.

Jay, who is aged 12, finished Tannaghmore Primary School just two months ago and this morning went to the newly formed St Ronan’s College.

Known worldwide as a super Celtic fan, Jay has Downs Syndrome and hit the headlines thanks to a friendship formed with ex-Hoops striker Georgios Samaras.

His mum Aine, who with Jay’s dad Martin set up the charity Downs and Proud, said Jay had a great first day at school.

Jay has had a busy year meeting top celebrities including Paulo Nutini and representing Celtic as an ambassador.
