Hunterhouse to mark 25th anniversary with gala ball

HUNTERHOUSE College is to celebrate in style this month with a spectacular Gala Ball planned as part of its 25th Anniversary celebrations.

Past pupils will join staff, parents, governors and guests at the black-tie event in the glamourous surroundings of Belfast City Hall on Saturday, June 16.

The ball – which is the culmination of a series of special events to mark the 25th anniversary of the amalgamation of Ashleigh House and Princess Gardens - will begin with a drinks reception at 7pm followed by a meal and dancing to Rio. Tickets, £50, are available from the school office.

Proceeds from the event will go towards helping educate children and transform lives in some of the poorest regions of Cambodia. As part of the anniversary year, Hunterhouse has decided to create a ‘Living Legacy’ and has established a link with the charity Edukid.

The school has undertaken to finance two villages through their ‘Educate a Village’ scheme for five years. Each child in the village will be registered, supplied with a school pack of a uniform, books, pens and pencils and enrolled in a school.

As well as receiving regular updates on the pupils’ progress, Hunterhouse College hopes to arrange for a team of pupils to visit the Cambodian villages over the next few years and become involved in a range of educationally-based projects.
