Home-Start Craigavon gets a sponsorship boost from Lidl

Last month, the Home-Start Craigavon scheme which supports families with young children in the local area through home-visiting parent befrienders, received corporate sponsorship from the Lidl Community Works campaign.

The Lidl campaign was launched to find projects in need of funding and a helping hand.

Home-Start Craigavon was one of the 33 winning groups who the Lidl Community Crew will visit over the coming months to help these groups sustain their important work.

Deborah Millar, project Co-ordinator for Home-Start Craigavon, said: “We were delighted to be one of the groups to receive goodie bags for Home-Start families and volunteers.

“We work with so many different types of families so this goodie bag with its healthy contents as well as a voucher for Lidl was really appreciated by everyone.

“It’s great to see businesses working in partnership with charities to support their local people.”

As part of the day, one of the Local Verve Health Trainers Kate McKeown did free local health checks with the Home-Start members and Christina Morris from the Promoting Health and Wellbeing Team, Craigavon and Banbridge gave a presentation on the Dangers of Button Batteries.
