Grab a bargain at Lisburn Elim’s new shop

The Op Shop, a new venture for the Elim Church has opened in the Church grounds at 46 – 48 Belfast Road, Lisburn.

Pastor Darren McWilliams explained: “Many may be unfamiliar with what an Op Shop is. Simply put, it is an opportunity shop, it gives the pubic the opportunity to purchase quality second hand goods at a very reasonable price.

“Op Shops and similar outlets have become very popular. We stock a wide range of pre used items, such as clothing and accessories, jewellery, toys, bric-a-brac, small furniture, books, computer hardware. The list is endless, You might be surprised by the bargains that you can get.”

Initially the shop is open on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning 10am -1pm and it will be staffed entirely by volunteers.

Pastor McWilliams continued: “The initial aim is to raise money for a project within the Church but we will eventually be able to increase our church support for work in the Mission field.

“The Elim movement has Missionaries in many countries around the world. Though the Elim Churches in Ireland are responsible for overseeing the work in Central and Southern Africa, they are currently involved in various on going projects for exampled building churches, orphanages, schools, and hospitals in Malawi, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

“The shop opened at the beginning of May and we have already established a good customer base but in order to continue this work we are very much dependant on donations of saleable items from members of the church and also the general public and any help they can give will be very much appreciated. If you can help, please donate during the shop opening times.”
