Gerry Lynch (Alliance)

GERRY LYNCH has been Executive Director of the Alliance Party since 2007.

He has been a party member since 1992 and first worked for the party as a gap year student during the talks that led to the Good Friday Agreement.

Educated at St. Malachy’s College in Belfast and Queen’s University Belfast, Gerry spent seven years, from 2000-2007, as a senior policy-making official in Whitehall.

He returned to Northern Ireland because he wanted to play a part in making the new institutions of government work for the people of Northern Ireland.

Politics should be about solving problems, not waving flags. I want to talk about real issues. Politics is about is about working with real people, to make government solve their problems rather than creating extra ones,” he said.
