FROG teamraise over £8,500 for Marie Curie

THE fourth annual Fun Run Of the Glens (FROG) took place recently, with a 50 or 100 mile cycle, all in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

On June 4, 70 participants took part with representation from Michelin Cycling Club, Ballymoney Cycling Club, Ballymena Cycling Club, and Larne AC to name a few. There were also a number of novice cyclists using this as a goal to get started in a cycling career.

The weather was kind and it remained dry for the entire day, however, a strong wind for the second 50 miles brought tears to the eyes of even the hardened cyclists.

This event has increased in popularity each year and we look forward to even greater participation next year.

Anne McRoberts, Area Fundraising Manager for Marie Curie Cancer Care said: “This is a great event, this years event raised 8586.00. Over the last 4 events the FROG cyclists and organising committee have raised over 41,000 for the work of the charity. 41,000 will have provided over 2050 hours of nursing care locally.

“A great day was had by all who took part and a huge thank you goes to Paul McToal, the organising committee and off course the cyclists who took part. Thank you”
