Five arrested over Craigavon jewellery theft

Five people have been arrested in connection with the theft of thousands of pounds of jewellery in Craigavon last month.

Three men aged 52, 44 and 31, and a woman aged 30 were arrested after searches in Coleraine.

Police also arrested a man aged 29 in the Craigavon area.

They said the arrests were related to a burglary at Moyraverty Road West between October 24 and 26. All those arrested were released on bail.

Police said a quantity of Pandora jewellery had been recovered.

The jewellery business Argento previously said £80,000 of stock was stolen in the incident with owner Peter Boyle saying the company had lost much of its Christmas stock.

Two men, aged 41 and 63 were arrested last month in connection with the theft. They were later released pending further inquiries.
