Finvoy Presbyterian BB display

A LARGE crowd attended the Boys’ Brigade annual display recently in Finvoy Presbyterian church hall.

The chaplain of the Company, Rev Roy Gaston and chairman for the evening welcomed everybody to the display. The Inspecting Officer was Dr. Edwin Henderson. The programme consisted of drill, figure marching, sketches, singing, interspersed with P.E. and humorous items under the Captain

Ian Bolton. Craig Beattie had his President’s Badge pinned on by his mother Margaret.

The prizes were presented by the inspecting Officer’s wife Mrs Pamela Henderson.

The cup winners were as follows:

Anchor boys: The Dunlop cup - Matthew Keers. The Beattie Shield for endeavour - Jonathan Brown; The Granagh Cup - James Reid.

Junior Section: The Rosnashane cup for P.E. - Andrew Fleming; Junior scripture cup - (tie) Mark Faulkner and Sam Reid; 2nd Year scripture - Tom Taylor; 3rd Year scripture - Andrew Dysart; Best Junior the Cooper cup - Adam Rea; 125 Anniversary shield - Matthew Campbell; The McCartney Cup for endeavour - Samuel Blair.

Company Section; Ben Murdock; The Millar cup for sport - Thomas Dysart; Grade one scripture - William Gilmore; Grade two scripture - Jordan Moon; Grade three scripture - Robbie Bellingham; Grade four scripture - David McAneaney; Recruit cup - Ben Murdock; Best senior boy Hughes cup - David McAneaney; Centenary cup for drill - Craig Beattie; The Gillen cup for character and influence - Ryan Moon.

The captain Ian Bolton thanked all the boys, officers, parents, friends and the audience for concluding another successful year with the display.
