Experimental dance opposes slavery
Around a dozen amateur and skilled performers, including BA (Hons) Dance students from the University of Ulster, will take to the stage experimental dance exploration between Modern/Contemporary dance techniques and the traditional Middle Eastern dance form Raks Sharki (Belly dance) with Latin influences. This experimental approach will both entertain and challenge a wide diversity of audiences from all cultural origins.
Eilish McQuade, one of the performers said: “Across the world 12.3 million people are in slavery. Even more shocking is that it is happening right under our noses, with people trafficked into forced prostitution and forced labour across Ireland today.”
The Magic Touch will be visiting The Waterside Theatre on Saturday 22nd May, 8.00pm. Tickets priced at 6.00, 4.00 conc. Telephone the Waterside Theatre Box Office for tickets on 02871 314000.
