Everything’s coming up Rosey at Pond Park

POND Park Primary School, whichstarted its Green flag journey in September 2011 has received both encouragement and a large supply of Rosey Lee compost from its award winning producer NWP.

During their outside classroom activities the children have been encouraged to use low or peat free compost, which is why the Rosey Lee Compost is perfect. The P5 year group now have ownership and responsibility for their own compost bins.

Daniel Murray of NWP, who are responsible for the collection and composting of brown household food and garden waste bin contents for 11 local council areas sadi: ‘We first learnt of Pond Park’s Green Flag journey when we were contacted by one of the parents, Jenny Belshaw.

“We were so impressed with their efforts and what they were doing it was our pleasure to assist by donating a supply of Rosey Lee Compost. We hope the young budding gardeners enjoy their planting and as a result of their ‘little green fingers’ reap the benefits in months to come.”
