Dunloy marks anniversary of Hogan/ Martin deaths

Sinn Féin Dunloy councillor Philip McGuigan has announced details of the commemoration to mark the 27th anniversary of the deaths of Declan Martin and Henry Hogan.

Mr McGuigan said: “This Sunday, the 20th February, sees the commemoration in honour of Declan Martin and Henry Hogan who were shot by British security operatives in Dunloy in 1984.

“The main assembly point is the Parish centre carpark at 2pm sharp. There will be a parade with bands in attendance and a wreath-laying ceremony.

The organisers are honoured that the MLA for West Belfast and former hungerstriker, Pat Sheehan will give the main oration.

“Commemorating our dead is very important to the Republican family and I invite all Republicans to join us on Sunday as we mark the deaths of these two young men.”
