The first new Vital business seminar “Promoting your business and using public relations – does image really matter” received a great turnout.

Focusing on gaining a competitive edge in today’s competitive market, the seminar was held by Teri Kelly, who began her career as a business journalist in the US.

Teri has since worked as a newspaper reporter in Northern Ireland before starting her own boutique PR consultancy.

Boasting extensive contacts and an understanding of how to help clients tell their stories, Teri helps create positive media coverage by clarifying her clients’ key messages and communicating them across all platforms.

Speaking at the event, Alderman Maureen Morrow said: “Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is keen to support local businesses through providing advice and information about issues relevant to them.

“In a difficult and uncertain economic climate, businesses need to seek a competitive edge that can give them an advantage and a better market share.

“Effective PR is a vital way of increasing your business profile in a way that can be very effective without being very costly. I am pleased that local businesses have come to this event to take advantage of obtaining advice from an expert in this area.”

Held at the Willowbank Rural Conference Centre, there are five more events to be held in the coming months, including Digital Marketing, the Future of Exporting Post Brexit and Customer Service.

The next topic, to be held October 28 is on employment law and getting the best out of your staff.
