Damhead run '˜Daily Mile for cancer kids
The children run four laps round the school grounds weather permitting, the equivalent of one mile. The pupils thoroughly enjoy the run and the most obvious benefits are fitness and energy levels have improved as well as greater concentration in class.
Using the school as a starting point the children have been using their equivalent miles to reach destinations along the Northern Ireland coastline. Each new town or village reached earns them a stamp in their “passport”. Those children with 100% attendance have now completed 79 miles and have reached Ballygalley Head Larne.
