The “Friends of Larne Music Festival” attended a reception hosted by patron Lady Aurora, Viscountess Dunluce held at Glenarm Castle last Thursday (April 9).

This was an enjoyable gathering of supporters of the festival, who each contribute £10 annually towards finances to ensure continuance of the festival.

Lady Aurora greeted guests which included the new Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Council, Councillor Billy Ashe.

This year’s music festival will start on Thursday April 30 and will run until Saturday May 2.

It will be held in First Larne Presbyterian Church Hall, commencing daily at 10.00 am.

A youth concert, featuring a selection of talented young people, will be held on Friday May 1, commencing at 7.00 pm, with donations going towards the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

The closing date for entries is Friday April 17. These can be made online or to chairman Richard Barnes, 1 Buchanan Court, Killyglen Road, Larne BT40 2NY. The syllabus and festival details are available at:
