Culmore works

WORK converting Culmore roundabout into a signalised junction has commenced and will run until the summer with Roads Service advising access for the emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Roads Service, Roads Design and Maintenance Manager, D. Wray wrote to Derry City Council to notify the authority works are now being carried out at Culmore Road Junction.

“This scheme involved the conversion of the existing Culmore Road Roundabout, into a Signalised Junction.

“The works themselves will involve the upgrade of the existing drainage, major ducting work relating to the new traffic signals, relocation of existing services, and substantial carriageway reconstruction.

“The works will only have a moderate impact on traffic. No work will be carried out on carriageway during peak times. Resurfacing work will be in place towards end of scheme approx. June,” the Council was advised. Access will be maintained for emergency services at the site at all times.
