CRUN secure Big Lottery Funding

COLERAINE Rural and Urban Network (CRUN) have secured funding for four support workers.

Ann McNickle from CRUN spoke about the funding at a Coleraine Policing and Community Partnership meeting last Monday night in Flowerfield.

CRUN is supported by the PSCP.

Ann explained that Big Lottery Funding of almost £500,000 had been secured over the next five years to employ four workers who will work with the young people of the area.

Highlighting the work of CRUN with young people across the Borough, Ann told those in attendance about a Youth Inclusion Project funded by the PCSP.

Ann explained that new groups had been formed in Millburn, Bushmills Road and Windyhall and that the project engages with young people and encourage them to get involved in their communities.

One of the schemes highlighted by Ann was a project at Coleraine Football Club called a ‘peer leadership’ scheme.

The project organised by CRUN in association with the Irish FA saw people from all sections of the community getting together to work on a time line of memories of football matches.
