Road police busy dealing with 'illegal vehicles' and red diesel offenders in Mid Ulster
Officers from C section said they had a busy day dealing with a significant number of illegal vehicles and offences across the district on Wednesday.
In a Facebook post, they said: "Two vehicles were seized for having no insurance and both drivers issued with six penalty points and a £200 fine, there's also the £150 release fee after they've purchased insurance for the vehicles... and the £20 a day storage fee.

Hide Ad"That's a hefty price to pay for trying to dodge paying insurance."
But as well as dealing with those driving without insurance, police said they also caught a number of diesels running on red diesel in a joint operation with HM Revenue and Customs.
The offence carries an on-the-spot fine of £500.
Road offences carry a number of different punishments, here are some:
No MOT - £60 on the spot fine
Non payment of road levy - £300 fine
Overweight vehicles - range of fines up to £200
No tachograph - £200 fine
No operators licence - free court appearance with potential fine of £1,000
Defective brakes - a defect notice to a driver
