Muckamore Abbey probe: man released pending report to PPS

A man who was arrested yesterday (Monday) as part of investigations into the alleged ill-treatment of patients at Muckamore Abbey hospital, has been released.

Providing an update this morning (Tuesday), a PSNI spokesperson said: “A 51-year-old man arrested on June 5 by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Public Protection Branch investigating the allegations of ill-treatment of patients at Muckamore Abbey Hospital, has been released from custody pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

"The investigation continues.”
