Man due in court on series of charges including assault on police

A man (38) has been charged with a number of offences including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault on police, attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He is expected to appear before Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 23.

The charges are in relation to an incident in the Greenvale Manor area of Antrim on Tuesday (February 21).

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
