Man due in court following Rathcoole incident

Police in Newtownabbey have charged a 32-year-old man with a number of offences including driving while unfit through drink or drugs, possessing an article with a point or blade in a public place and disorderly behaviour.

In a statement issued to the Times, a PSNI spokesperson said: “He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday).

“As is usual procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

“The charge follows an incident in the Rathcoole area of Newtownabbey in the early hours of yesterday (Monday, September 27).”
