Man due in court after drugs seized in Larne

A 37-year-old man has been charged to appear before Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, March 11 following the seizure of suspected cannabis in Larne on Tuesday.

He is charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and possession of an offensive weapon. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

This follows a proactive policing operation on Tuesday, March 9 at Larne Harbour, during which detectives from the Police Service’s Organised Crime Unit worked alongside Border Force, HMRC and Roads and District Policing colleagues.
