A fundraiser has been launched to return murdered Syrian man Hazem Ahmed Ghreir home for burial.
A “Just Giving” crowdfunding appeal has been established with a target of £6,000 to help with funeral costs.
Mr. Ghreir, aged in his 30s, was stabbed to death in Belfast city centre on Sunday night.
The attack took place at Downshire Place in the Great Victoria Street area at approximately 10.45 pm.
An 18-year-old man appeared at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with his murder.
It is understood that Mr. Ghreir had been living in Carrickfergus.
Ro Mie who set up the fund on “Just Giving” said: “His family are obviously deeply shocked and devastated. The family would like to raise enough money to send his body back to Syria for proper burial.”
