Copper stolen from house

The PSNI is appealing for information after a suspected burglary in the Ballyvernstown Road area of Larne.

It is believed that a vacant house was broken into on Tuesday, May 14 and copper was removed from the inside the property.

Police have asked owners of vacant properties to take steps against would-be thieves and burglars, including installing intruder alarms.

They also advised neighbours to look out for each other’s properties, especially in rural areas.

A spokesperson said: “Local Crime Prevention Officers can provide advice on how to reduce your likelihood of becoming a victim of this type of crime.

“They can be contacted on the non-emergency number 0845 600 8000.”
