Police in Coleraine have arrested a 23-year-old man following the report of a man being armed with a knife in the Bushmills Road area this morning.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland statement released this afternoon said: “He remains in custody at this time.”

Photos and videos had been circulating widely on social media this morning (Wednesday) of a man, dressed in black top, trousers and balaclava, apparently with a machete-type knife in the vicinity of the train and bus station in Coleraine.
