Arrest warrant for man charged with Bodega bar thefts

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Larne man accused of stealing £3,000 from the safe of the La Bodega public house in the town's Point Street on Christmas Day last year.

Samuel John O’Toole (55), of Fanad Drive, is also alleged to have stolen £930 on December 5 last year and faces a third charge of stealing a float box containing around £600 on February 7 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court his defence barrister Aaron Thompson said it was an alleged “breach of trust case”.

Issuing the arrest warrant, Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer, said the case had previously been mentioned in court.

He said the accused was told to be present at Ballymena Court on November 3 but had still not shown up.
