POLICE in Larne are appealing for information after a group of masked men broke into a house in the town last Thursday night.
The PSNI received a report of an aggravated burglary at a premises in the Fairway area around 9.30pm. Five men - four of them wearing balaclavas and two armed with hammers - entered the house and caused damaged to the property. It is understood that at least one person was in the house at the time of the incident.
At about 10.10pm on Sunday, police were called to the scene of a badly damaged car at Brustin Brae Road.
A PSNI officer said there is a “strong suspicion” that this vehicle is linked to the incident at Fairway.
A short time later, a 35-year-old man was arrested for aggravated burglary and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
