Rehearsals have been busy and intense as the Choir becomes accustomed to their new Musical Director/Conductor Dr Norman Richardson, who joined them in September.

Norman was the founder of The Corrymeela Singers who were active in installing good community relations during our ‘troubles’.

He still takes an active interest in reconciliation. He is semi–retired but continues to lecture at Stranmillis University College Belfast. The choir are very privileged to have a conductor of his calibre.

As this will be the first concert with our new conductor you can expect to hear lovely traditional Christmas music – some with new arrangements by Norman, which brings freshness to well-known tunes.

The Choir is joined by Rachael Gaile, a Mezzo-soprano soloist, and this event, ‘Celebrate with Counterpoint’, takes place in The Salvation Army Citadel in Union Street on Friday, November 28, at 7.45pm. A donation of £8 includes a light supper. Tickets are available from any member of the choir or at the door on the evening.
