Such has been the ongoing feedback from that occasion it was felt a return performance was long overdue. The choir have been creating good music since their formation in 1926. They have been under the leadership of Musical Director Gordon Speers for thirty five years. Gordon a well known personality in both Lurgan and Portadown is a talented vocal soloist in his own right.

To compliment and contrast the vocals there will be a Euphonium soloist, John Starkes. John is principal Euphonium at Boscombe Salvation Army. His reputation is enhanced by his association with the world famous Black Dyke band. The euphonium, an orchestral instrument is masterfully controlled by John.

Of course the corps band will also be featured heavily on the night. Bandmaster Briggs has again this year extended the band with plans to perform major and challenging musical works. Having been in strict rehearsal for the last three months it should be noted that their efforts will be well worth coming to hear.

The concert will be compered by Lt Col Peter Wood. As a commissioned officer Peter has served the Salvation Army at home and overseas for some 30 years. He will be sharing these experiences particularly on the Sunday as he is responsible for services
