Community tree light switch ons

FOLLOWING on from the switching on of the Christmas Tree lights in Lisburn City Centre, the Community Christmas Tree Switch Ons across the City will begin in earnest this week.

As part of Lisburn City Council’s Community Christmas Grants Scheme, which gave Community Groups in the Downshire, Killutagh and Dunmurry Cross areas, the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to £1,500, 19 Community Switch On Events will take place in the City over the next week.

Launching the Events, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure Services Committee, Councillor Thomas Beckett said that local communities had been working tirelessly to ensure an action packed festive programme of events in the run up to Christmas.
