Coleraine residents urged to ‘Beat the Freeze’ this winter

Regional Development Minister, Danny Kennedy, and NI Waters Director of Customer Services Delivery, Sara Venning, joined forces to launch a new stop valve tag.  The tag loops around the stop valve and helps ensure customers are aware of the location of the valve in their premises.  The bright colour also ensures the valve will be easily identifiable in the event of a burst pipe.   


The stop valve tags are available to customers by phoning the Waterline number 08457 440088 or emailing waterline@niwater.com

The message calls on the public to check that homes and businesses are prepared for the cold weather conditions.

Minister Kennedy said: “The only thing we can be really certain of when it comes to our weather is that can be totally unpredictable! We can, however, prepare for whatever winter brings by checking our homes and properties are well protected.

“Simply, take a few minutes to ensure that water pipes are protected and well insulated, if not, then take action now and potentially save money, time and the inconvenience of dealing with a burst pipe.”
