The guest speaker, a professional fine art landscape photographer, opened the evening with a brief audio visual sequence entitled ‘Chasing the Light’ filled with stunning images of UK and Irish coastlines. He went on to explain the efforts that were made in order to achieve the desired photographic results.

“By discussing photographic topics such as light, composition, subject matter and emotion it became clear how the images obtained their impact on the viewer,” a club spokesman explained. “He stressed that images are foremost created by one’s heart rather than one’s equipment.”

Armed with this basic message, members were prepared for their own landscape images to be produced later in the season.

The club has many more talks on photographic subjects, as well as practical workshops and competitions, scheduled throughout the season.
