Childrenassessed

EDUCATIONAL psychologists assessed almost 2,000 children in the Western Education and Library Board (WELB) last year.

The WELB Education Psychology Service assesses 1,624 primary school children and 174 post-primary school children in the 2009/10 academic year, the Education Minister Caitríona Ruane advised in response to an Assembly Question.

A further 348 children were referred to the service but had either not yet been seen or whose assessment process had not yet been completed.
