Ballyclare Chamber of Trade, Glengormley Chamber & Traders’ Group and Mallusk Enterprise Park were each presented with Outstanding Commitment Awards for their voluntary contribution to economic life in the borough.

“We are delighted to recognise the dedication of our entrepreneurs and commitment to growth that local firms have demonstrated over recent years. I would commend all who entered the awards for their determination to succeed and congratulate the worthy winners,” said Mayor Thomas Hogg.

Simon Devlin, Managing Director of Full Circle Management Solutions added: “The judges were impressed with both the calibre and breadth of the applications received - from fledgling businesses to much longer established companies across a whole range of market sectors. What really struck the judges was the entrepreneurial spirit that clearly exists in the borough of Newtownabbey. Having gone through so much pain due to the economic downturn, owner-managers of small businesses in the area have had to diversify and take risks to survive, consolidate and grow.”
