Can you help an MA student with thesis?

A 22-year-old student from Londonderry needs help from Sentinel readers to help complete her MA degree.

Heather Taylor, a past pupil of Lisnagelvin Primary School, Clondermott High and Lisneal College, has appealed for people in Londonderry and the district to email her at [email protected] if they are willing to be interviewed about their reading habits.

The University of Ulster student needs a cross-range of people, male and female, of all age groups to undergo a brief interview with her about what they read and what it means to them so that she can write her thesis and finish her MA on cultural heritage and museum studies.

Heather hopes that she will be able to set up an exhibition on her findings.

“With the City of Culture coming up I want to explore the subject in the context of understanding cultures and I want to hear from people over all sectors of the city and the wider Londonderry area who would be up for doing an interview with me. It does not matter what ethnic or native background people are from, what their lifestyle preferences are, or if they are single or married.

“In the 19th Century this city was known for its book clubs and one lady I know is doing her Doctorate on it and she said the city was ‘into its reading’. I think we still are,” said Heather.
