Businesses urged to apply for broadband voucher scheme

East Antrim MLA Oliver McMullan has called on local businesses to take advantage of the ‘Connection Voucher’ initiative to upgrade to faster broadband.

The vouchers – between £100 and £3000 – will pay towards the fixed cost of getting connected.

The Sinn Fein representative said: “In the ever-developing business world, having a top-speed broadband is essential in competing in both the local and global market.

“This initiative allows businesses to apply for up to £3,000 that covers installation costs and equipment costs in upgrading your broadband connection.”

Superfast broadband is available across Northern Ireland from a variety of providers, and Mr McMullan claimed that over a thousand businesses in the province have already received a ‘Connection Voucher’.

“I would appeal to businesses to take advantage of this initiative and apply by contacting 0800 587 4695 to see if your business is eligible,” Mr McMullan concluded.
