Filming on Brad Pitt’s new movie The Lost City of Z is to take place on the outskirts of Larne, the Times can reveal.
Scenes for the Hollywood production – starring Hollywood A-listers such as Sienna Miller, Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson – have been shot in various locations across Northern Ireland, including Greyabbey, Ballintoy and most recently in East Belfast.
And the Times understands that a film set is currently being constructed in the hills just west of Larne, with filming to take place in the coming weeks.
Last week, the Larne Times revealed that Sallagh Brae had been used to shoot scenes for the upcoming season of the smash-hit TV show, Game of Thrones.
While Hollywood heart-throb Pitt doesn’t actually star in the Lost City of Z, his Plan B company is producing it.
Scheduled for release next year, the movie is based on David Grann’s 2009 book about legendary British explorer Percy Fawcett who ventured into the Amazon jungle in search of a mystical city in 1925, but never returned.
