Bohill Care Home praised as a '˜very special place' in IIP report

Bohill Bungalows on the outskirts of Coleraine, has been highly praised by the organisation '˜Investors in People' for going above and beyond in the way it develops, supports and motivates its employees.

Investors in People accredited the Cloyfin Road home with its special Investors in People status following a review of the effectiveness of the home in leading and supporting its workforce, and its commitment to services.

In its report, Investors in People said: “Staff are extremely passionate about their work and the residents they care for.

“Bohill Bungalows is a very special place with highly motivated and enthusiastic people.”

Bohill Bungalows provides care for up to 24 adults with learning disability, autism and complex physical disabilities. It is managed by Craegmoor, part of the world-famous Priory Group, the UK healthcare specialists.

“Involvement and empowerment is exceptional in Bohill Bungalows,” the report said. The leadership and management of the home were described as “very strong”. “All of your people take ownership and responsibility,” the report added.

Learning and development was described as “outstanding”. Craegmoor’s training programmes and its commitment to continuous professional development were also singled out for praise.

Around 14,000 organisations globally hold the internationally-recognised ‘Investors in People’ status, which recognises what it takes to lead, support and manage people well.

The home already holds joint accreditation, with Apple Mews, another Craegmoor home, from Queen’s University Belfast for nurse training. The homes host learning disability training and specialist Acquired Brain Injury training placements in as part of their tie-up with the university.
